Let's be clear: Trump is actively trying to destroy the economy. If he's not successful it will only be because people in a position to do so have held him at bay.

Also, he has to dismantle democracy before the midterms. He's trying, but the intentionally change-resistant force of our bureaucracy opposes him. The race is on to make a dictatorship on a deadline.

I am skeptical he can do it, which is not the same as belittling the attempt.

And unfortunately even if he doesn't succeed he's bound to do a lot of damage.

Yeah. My strategy is to not think about it. There will be a lot to repair. We just have to get through this.

One thing I am pondering as I read about various executive orders being halted by judges is that Trump is an expert on slow-walking the court system. But now he needs to be speeding it up. That's a totally different skill, and our court system doesn't particularly like being pressured. So we'll see.
