There's nothing "racist" about not wanting your government to whitewash the diversity of your country.

I love living in a place that has room for a variety of cultures and backgrounds. That doesn't mean that I hate my own race. And being embarrassed at the bigotry and vitriol expressed by others of my race doesn't mean that I'm "ashamed to be White." It means I'm ashamed to be associated with hatefulness and narrow-mindedness, and that I see no reason to be "proud" of nothing more than my skin-tone lacking melanin.
